The Wicked Witch of the East
Fans of L. Frank Baum might be familiar with this little known character, The Wicked Witch of the East. This sweetly sinister fabric doll, designed to bring the historically malevolent character to life, was made in my doll workshop over several days. Her body consists of green broadcloth, and she is dressed in a custom sewn bubble dress, a matching witch's hat, sewn-on striped leg tights, and hand-sewn felt ruby slippers. She stands approximately 33 cm (or 13 inches) in height.
The witch's facial features were hand painted using fabric paint and touched up with Prismacolor coloured pencils, and her long hair is a soft green yarn.
Please note that The Wicked Witch of the East is not designed as a toy that can withstand the rough play of small children. She is best suited for gentle play...or to serve as a collectible display item.
